WIPEX Invests $15.5 Million in Green Biodegradable Fiber Plant in Haining High-tech Zone

New facility to boost annual output to $100 million and create nearly 1,000 jobs by 2028

HAINING, Zhejiang, China – June 23, 2026 – WIPEX New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. ("WIPEX"), a leading Chinese manufacturer of spunlace nonwoven cleaning products, has signed an agreement to build a new intelligent manufacturing base in the Haining High-tech Zone. The project, with a total investment of RMB 110 million (approximately USD 15.5 million), was officially announced during the 2026 Haining High-tech Zone Investment and Talent Attraction Signing Ceremony.

Scheduled to break ground in July 2026 and reach commercial production by 2028, the new facility will produce 6,000 tons of eco-friendly biodegradable fiber products annually. Covering 40,000 square meters, the plant represents a major expansion of the company’s existing production base.

A Fivefold Capacity Leap

Upon completion, WIPEX' annual output value is expected to surge from USD 20 million to USD 100 million — a fivefold increase — adding approximately USD 80 million in new annual revenue. The expansion will also generate substantial employment opportunities in the Jiaxing region. The company currently employs 150 people, and the new plant is projected to create nearly 1,000 new jobs, providing a significant boost to the local economy and workforce.

Smart Manufacturing with Over 80% Automation

The new factory will feature fully automated production lines and advanced automated warehouse robotics systems, achieving an automation rate exceeding 80%. This technological upgrade is designed to significantly improve production efficiency and product quality consistency. The capacity expansion and manufacturing modernization will enable the company to further penetrate the industrial wiping and medical consumables markets, reinforcing its competitive edge in the global cleaning products sector.

Commitment to Sustainability and Global Certifications

Sustainability remains a core priority for WIPEX. All products from the new line will be made from ecofriendly biodegradable materials and have already obtained EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation) compliance certification and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) chain of custody certification. These accreditations ensure full traceability and sustainability throughout the supply chain, from raw material sourcing to finished goods. In addition, the new plant's rooftop will be fully covered with solar photovoltaic panels, significantly increasing the use of clean energy and supporting the company's goal of building a low-carbon, green intelligent manufacturing base.
